Bug described in #12298 was really hard to find because TASTY didn't give us any information that the problem was related to wrong compilation flags used for reading. It would be much easier if TASTY had information about settings it had been created with and could check and inform (e.g. by some exception) that settings used for reading are not compatible.

it would also be good to think about perhaps a shared resource containing this config
