Thanks, @azhangsg. We can assist by submitting a PR to add support for external-dns.alpha.kubernetes.io/target to HTTPRoute. However, we would like to confirm if this aligns with the direction you folks are planning to take. |

What would you like to be added: I'd like to override the
Gateway
target with theexternal-dns.alpha.kubernetes.io/target
annotation in theHTTPRoute
to target different resources.Why is this needed: Targets are currently only available to be set in
Gateway
CRDs where for eachHTTPRoute
, the parentGateway
sets the target for each DNS Record. In my case, I haveHTTPRoute
